We designed and built The Association of Suffolk Museums a new website to promote and support their members.
The Association for Suffolk Museums is an independent charity whose aim is to leadership and support to it’s members and to increase access and learning in museums for the benefit of the people of Suffolk.
The Association for Suffolk Museums had an existing website but the design was uninspiring and didn’t effectively promote the rich history, culture and education that is provided by the museums who are members.
Our proposed solution was to design and build a custom WordPress website with an interactive map showing the location of all the member museums.
The design uses colour and images to provide a visually appealing website which will encourage uses to explore. Each member has their own profile page where they can display their own details, images and events. We created museum categories with custom icons to help uses find the type of museum they are interested in.
WordPress development and build
The website features a custom events section with a frontend form that members can use to submit their events. We created an interactive map that allows uses to find museums by location and categories. We also created an online poll which allowed members of the public to vote for their favourite museum artefact.
The new website for The Association for Suffolk Museums helps them support and promote their members both to local people and visitors to the area.

We chose Purple Hippo to design and build our new website on the recommendation of Suffolk Artlink, who have worked with them.
We now have a new, functioning and easy to use website, which is also maintained by Purple Hippo, which has helped enormously in keeping on top of updates and tweaks.
It’s been a pleasure working with Purple Hippo throughout the process, we found Angie and Sara easy to work with and very knowledgeable.
