We worked with Damerons Farm Cottages to give them a brand identity, more control over their content and to increase their conversion rate.
Damerons Farm Cottages is a family run self catering holiday company located on a farm in the Suffolk countryside. It is owned by Sue and Wayne Leggett who have been welcoming guests for over 10 years.
Damerons Farm Cottages had a website built 7 years ago but it wasn’t mobile responsive and didn’t rank very well in search engine results. The business didn’t have a logo or brand identity.
They needed a website which would establish their brand identity and appeal to families, groups and businesses enabling them to easily check availability and book their accommodation.
Our proposed solution was to create a brand identity which would be used throughout the website design, to find and integrate a suitable booking calendar solution and to create the right content to boost SEO ranking.
Firstly we worked on designing a new logo which would give the business an identity. We presented Sue with a few initial ideas and she picked one which we developed into the finished logo.
We started by carrying out a content audit and keyword analysis on the current website. We then looked at other long and short tail keywords that were relevant for the target audiences such as weddings, business, groups and families.
We used these keywords to create the copy for the different website pages. This included a number of blog posts which provided a “Things to do in Suffolk” section.
We used elements of the logo in the website to create a design which appeals to all of Sue’s target audience, families, business, groups and accessible holidays all of which are clearly identified with the icons.
The finished design is clean and easy to navigate which portrays the farm as a warm and friendly place to stay. It’s clear what Damerons Farm Cottages does and who their target market is.
WordPress development and build
We built the website so that all the content can easily be added and edited. We had to import several customer reviews from the old website and associate them with the correct cottage. For large group holidays, some of the reviews were for more than one cottage so we created a custom admin UI where you can associate more than one cottage to a review. On each cottage page we display the reviews for that cottage and we created a review page which lists the cottages that each review is for with a link to each cottage page.
We helped Sue look at different booking calendar solutions and the one that stood out was by local company, Inn Style. This booking system integrates into the website and works well on mobile devices. Online payments are handled by Stripe.
We created a custom admin UI for the holiday cottages which makes it easy to edit the content, including the image slider and attributes such as number of bathrooms. The booking calendar is added simply by entering the Inn Style booking ID for that cottage.
The new website for Damerons Farm Cottages is a bespoke WordPress solution which has given Sue a sound and stable platform to move her business forward.

A chance conversation with Angie gave me confidence that she would understand our business and that I could trust her to design our website sympathetically and appropriately.
I was impressed with the clear and professional way in which Angie presented the proposals for the whole process of re-designing our website coupled with her local connections to a good graphic designer and a ‘words’ person.
The new website has significantly increased online bookings and has raised our online profile with a more up to date and professional image.
